Another First for the CFSCS

The Canadian Fastest Street Car Shootout does it again! Continuing the tradition of having quality companies provide awesome awards, the team at the CFSCS is proud to announce the Custom Paint Challenge. The Challenge will be part of the 2005 event and is open to all racers regardless of class. The Custom Paint Challenge

Stepping up to the plate is Scott Brown Graphic Designs, Scott Jahren Paint and Dan the Sign Man. The threesome will provide the winner with custom paint scheme by Scott Brown that will be applied by Scott Jahren. Dan DeLaney will handle Pinstriping and any lettering for the project. These three guys are major players in the custom paint field. All have been involved with racecars that have garnered Best Appearing Awards with multiple sanctioning bodies. They are also the craftsmen of choice for the RPM/HUR Project S-10 truck, which will debut at the 2005 CFSCS event.

To qualify for the Challenge racers have to carry Challenge decals on each rear side window of their racecar. Racers must pre-enter the challenge by signing up by e-mail. Prior to the final rounds a designated person will draw the winners name from a hat. Failure to run the decals during all phases of the event will result in disqualification. Final rules will be posted closer to the event before pre-registration is opened.

Scott Jahren Paint has painted some of the wildest looking racecars to come out North Western New York and Southern Ontario. Chosen by racers like Joe DaSilva, Joe Boniferro, Dan Fletcher and Victoria Smith, Jahren uses renderings from the likes of Dan DeLaney and Scott Brown, he then turns paper art into automobile art. Jahren’s talent is not limited to racecars; he also includes helmet painting and restoring antique vending machines in his repertoire. Like Brown, Jahren is also a racer and has an IHRA national event title to his name. By the end of November Jahren will have moved into new premises in the Buffalo suburb of Tonawanda. The expanded facility will allow Jahren to better service his clients in and out of the facility. Ample storage at the facility means racers just have to drop off their trailer and racecar and pick it up when it is ready. Scott Jahren Paint can be reached at (716) 692-2236 or on the world wide web at www.scottjahrenpaint.com

Dan the Sign Man is another expert in his field. Dan DeLaney produces quality painted and electric signs for all uses. What he specializes in, is racecar lettering and graphics. He was the first to start the Super Stock trend of painting contingency decals in a contrasting color to get away from the NASCAR look. Racers who have used the Sign Man’s talents are a virtual Who’s Who of racing, FJ Smith and Joe DaSilva being two of them. Located conveniently across the road from Jahren’s new facility the duo are able to provide racers with a one stop shopping scenario where DeLaney adds his magic touches to Jahren’s paint before the car leaves Peuquet Parkway and heads to the racetrack. Dan is the only one of the trio who is an ex racer, but that does not keep him away from the track. At the time of writing DeLaney was in Pomona, CA for the NHRA finale getting his last racing fix of the year. DeLaney can be reached at (716) 692-0420 and at a website to be announced shortly.

Well there you go! Another awesome award from the folks at the CFSCS. We have to thank Scott Brown, Scott Jahren and Dan DeLaney for coming on board with this amazing package. You can be assured the lucky winner will feature heavily in the pages of RPM/SSM when the Challenge comes to fruition.
